Edgar Ndazi
Love/London/Basketball
Love/London/Basketball is an audiovisual album, based on the people that I encountered in the close-knit London basketball community. Music has always been inextricably linked to basketball, with rap closely aligned. However, I sought to introduce my Africa-based electronica into the equasion. All footage was filmed by myself as I sought to create an intimate portrayal of the community that was seeking to recover, after the pandemic severely affected basketball and its participants. Footage was filmed in a number of locations around London. Musically I sought to create a cohesive body of work, with energy being a consistentoverall theme.
About Edgar Ndazi
Edgar Ndazi recently completed the MMus Creative Practice course at Goldsmiths. During his time at the university, which also included completing the BMus Music program, he was drawn into the intricacies of Audio-Visual Composition, with this now forming a significant element of his practice, alongside electronic music production and DJ'ing, where he performs under the moniker J.Umeme. These elements all came to fruition within his creative project, Love/London/Basketball, an audio-visual album highlighting the community around his other great passion, basketball.
