Interference patterns is an A/V work that explores the electromagnetic fields emitted from modified cathode ray tube televisions. The magnetic fields are navigated by the performer using electromagnetic coils, and the audio output of these are then fed back into the TV creating a feedback loop; what you see is what you hear is what you see is what you hear.

The energies are constantly being transformed from electromagnetic waves, to analogue audio signals, and back again. There are no other audio sources and the audio is left pure and un-altered.

Ed Chivers is a music maker and educator. He tours internationally with the bands Fujiya & Miyagi, and AK/DK, and he's currently interested in playing with the electromagnetic spectrum using it as an instrument for audio visual devices.
