About Konstantinos Damianakis
Konstantinos Damianakis (1997) is a Greek, London based, sonic artist and guitarist. In 2015 he achieved Grade 8 RGT in electric guitar while exploring modern and jazz improvisation and performing in the Athenian scene.
In 2018 he graduated from Brunel University of London in Sonic Arts (BA) with first class honours, also receiving the Jonathan Harvey award. During these three years his interests shifted to free improvisation through the teachings of Jennifer Walshe and participating in Peter Wiegold’s New Noise and Fusion Orchestra ensembles. Additionally, a turn towards sound design and electronic processes started to shape his artistic exploration.
In 2019, he followed his studies with a Sonic Arts Masters degree (MMus) in Goldsmiths University of London, where he explored sound-image relations and the boundaries of collaboration in performance making and choreography. His artistic practice and research are currently based on cultural theory and contemporary philosophy as sources of abstract ideas that transform into complex sonic processes and concept-driven aesthetics.
